Aspirin the wonder drug
New research shows that people at high risk of heart attack or stroke would
benefit from one or two baby aspirins a day instead of regular strength adult
aspirin.
The Oxford University London study shows that aspirin can help a wide range
of risky conditions that can lead to heart attack or stroke such as diabetes,
chest pain, irregular heart beat and diseased leg arteries.
The research found that aspirin can reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke
or death by 25% in patients who had not had a heart attack or stroke.
Most doctors have been using 325 mg of aspirin. The new research shows that
between 75mg and 150mg of aspirin works just as well with less chance of internal
bleeding.
