Anti-aging requires some planning. Anti-aging can be a whole bunch of fun because the rewards are tangible. You can feel the rewards. You can feel yourself staying younger, becoming younger, losing weight, having more energy and being mentally sharp. You can feel yourself developing a zest for life, a quest for knowledge, increased sexual desire, greater muscle strength, greater physical endurance, and an overall peace of mind and happiness with love and passion for what you are doing. If you follow the anti-aging
program, you will be a better spouse and a better friend. You will not
be a burden on your children. You will lead an active life exploring
the wonders of the world, being an asset to society and helping other
people. Time will just fly because you are having so much fun. Don't forget to write my
publisher or me with all your stories of success, because I want to
publish them some day. Tell me the little things you did that made a
major impact in your life for keeping you young. I want to share these
ideas with others. We started with detoxification. Now it's up to you to do spring cleaning in your body. Get rid of those thousands of toxins that can impede your health before you start building it up. The next section we talked about was caloric restriction. The basic data out there show big fat is making us very sick. By reducing the amount of food we eat, we can increase our life span by about one-third based upon animal studies. We can also reduce disease, increase mobility and virility by restriction caloric intake. In the next section, we talked about physical activity and exercise. Physical activity has been shown to be one of the most potent anti-aging things you can do. Not only will it increase your muscle tone and stamina, but it will also strengthen your bones, increase growth hormone levels, and increase the oxygenation to your brain promoting brain growth factor activation resulting in preservation and enhancement of your brain cells. That's a lot of benefit for just walking two miles or more a day at about a 3 to 4 mph pace, isn't it? So, what's holding you back? Go out and do it. Just do it. Then we got to the gravy section of this book, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and herbs. All those things are very nice. They will help you. But they are like the icing on the cake. They are sweet, they are decorative, and they sort of round the whole thing out. They prevent free radical damage to your cells. They build you up nutritionally and give you good raw material so you can build a solid house that resists diseases and allows you to bounce back rapidly from any illness. The fifth secret I talked
about was hormone replacement. We know the growth hormone is very potent
in reversing the symptoms of aging, such as excess fat deposition, overall
appearance, energy, and stamina. There is a list of benefits we derive
from growth hormone, as well as other hormones, such as testosterone
or estriol. The sixth secret of anti-aging was fruits, vegetables, and dietary choices. What we put in our body is what we get out of our body. Garbage in, garbage out. If you feed your body nutrient poor food that is loaded with carbohydrates, sugars, and additives, you are going to get not only sub-optimum performance, you are going to have a disease-ridden performance and an emaciated, pale-looking body that falls over with the first virus or bacteria that comes around and gets gobbled up. But, if you give your body healthy nutrient-rich foods that are loaded with minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins, your body will be like a strong palm tree that can weather any hurricane that comes by, clinging onto the sand, bending in the wind, resilient and standing strong. The choice is yours. The final secret of anti-aging ? happy thoughts and the anti-aging mind ? does not cost you anything. It is all in your mind, your willingness to change your environment, reduce stress, constantly challenge your mind, hang around positive people. Be happy and have lots and lots and lots of fun.
